“But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.”

Last month or so, world leaders and climate change freaks who met in Glasgow, Scotland implored the world to act, telling us how climate is an “existential” crisis. They claimed, if we do not address it NOW, the world will cease to exist in about “twelve years,” according to AOC.

These hypocrites who don’t know God, following after their own lusts, truly do not believe in what they preach. We watched them board CO2 emissions aircrafts when they could have deployed an innovative zero-carbon zoom call as an example for us to follow. They want us to live in cubicles, eat grass, and ride on bicycles to work, all while they themselves and their rich friends are taking trips to space and live in mansions. The hypocrisy of depraved men has no bounds. Aren’t you glad that God, who is impartial, reigns in this world?

FYI UNGODLY MEN AND WOMEN

This fallen world will cease to exist indeed, but not the way these global warming folks are telling you. The world will end when its Maker decides to end it. 2 Peter 3:10 tell us that He will destroy the elements with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be discovered. Other translation uses the word, “fervent” heat and that both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.

Believers know what will happen to this planet at any given moment. The Lord will come like a thief. Thieves come without any warning. We should rejoice because we see earthly movements as God sees. Things we read from the Bible are manifesting before our own eyes. Signs and evidence of His coming are more clear today than they were two thousand years ago. The devil’s activities are intense all around us. God’s people should know the time and season because our salvation is near. So when I see these straw-men busy in their vain projects, I can’t help but have compassion on them. I pray for them. I wish they would see what we see. Maybe, maybe they would allocate their time and resources towards fruit that will remain.

If you don’t know Jesus Christ in your life you should be terrified. Many of you will be deceived by the devil’s talks like “climate crisis” or whatever crisis of the day to destruct you from escaping the real and an ever lasting crisis.

HOW SHOULD BELIEVERS CONDUCT THEMSELVES IN THE MEANTIME?

Knowing the present planet will be destroyed, how should a believer live?

Peter did not leave us in the darkness. He tells us, “you are to be in holy conduct and godliness.” 2 Peter 3: 11. He went on writing, “But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.” verse 13.

APPLICATION:

There is a new earth (in which righteousness dwells) coming from heaven. The city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God. There will be neither climate crisis nor wokeness! And while we are waiting for His coming, we’re to stand firm in our faith in this ungodly and perverse generation. We are to be holy in our conducts and godly. People should know we are different. Unsaved people should envy us. We are alien to them. We do not belong nor participate in their frenzy. The apostle Peter wrote by way of a reminder to us.
