The only Way to the Father
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me, John 14:6.
Observation:
Who is him? Who is this person the Lord Jesus was talking to?
He was talking to Thomas (V.5), the doubter (Vv. 20:24, 25).
Jesus made a bold claim here. He said, “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
There it is friends, you either believe Him or you don’t. There is no in between or a gray area. Jesus is the only Way to God. Now, I can hear Oprah whispering behind my ear, what about Indians who never heard about Jesus?
Good question Oprah, let the Bible answer you:
Romans 1:20, For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from His workmanship, so that men are without excuse.
Psalm 19:1-4a, The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. Day after day utters speech, And night after night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language Where their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out into all the earth, And their words to the end of the world.
Romans 10:17-20, So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. But I ask, did they not hear? Indeed: “Their voice has gone out into all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world.”
The Bible tells us, Oprah, those Indians and people in the Amazon heard their voice and their words. And verse 20 of Romans 10 quotes the prophet Isaiah who spoke on behalf of God saying, “I was found by those who did not seek Me; I revealed myself to those who did not ask for Me.”
Psalm 98:2-3, The LORD has made known his salvation; he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations. He has remembered His mercy and His faithfulness to the house of Israel; All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
Acts 14:16-15, In the past, He let all nations go their own way. And yet He has not left Himself without witness, doing good, giving to you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness.”
I can go on and on, the point is clearly stated that God’s word and His voice has gone out to the end of the earth. His divine nature and eternal power are clearly shown to us, every human have seen them and heard from them. We have no excuse. God is found by those who do not seek Him. He reveals Himself to those who do no ask for Him.
You need to understand this- Israel, the nation God created out of one man named Abraham, was privileged to be given God’s commandment and God’s Law through Moses. They have seen God’s power in Egypt, in the wilderness, and in the promised land. They witnessed His miracles, wonders, and signs and then the word became flesh. They ate with Him, walked with Him, and saw His works. They saw His glory the glory of the only begotten Son of God full of grace and truth and yet Israel rejected Him to this day. Claims that certain people never heard about the word of God is not true. “Their line has gone out into all the earth, And their words to the end of the world.”
Hebrews 1:3 states, He (Jesus, the Son of God) is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature, and He upholds the universe by the word of His power. After making purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
Truth: What is truth?
John 18:38, “What is truth?” Pilate asked. John 14:6 Jesus answered, “…I am the truth…” John 1:17, For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
Truth has origin. Truth has a root. Truth is a Person. Truth has a name. Liberals tell us that truth is fluid and personalized. They claim, whatever you think is truth it is truth to you. How chaotic is that? Did I create myself? I am grateful I believe Jesus is the Truth.
Life: What is Life?
Like truth, life is a Person. Jesus is life and outside Jesus Christ you have no life.
John 10:10, The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.
John 14:6, Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
No one comes to the Father except through me.
God is the Father of spirits.
Hebrews 12:9, “Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live?” But sin separated us from God. Jesus came not only to show us the way to the Father but also to give us life. Believe in Christ or perish. There are no many ways to God, there is only one Way to God and His name is Jesus.
Are you going to trust Jesus or trust evolution? Life is Jesus Christ or you have no life. The way to the Father is Christ Jesus or perish. Truth is Christ or lies that are in you and in the world. Repent and believe in Jesus Christ today.
