Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Salvation is a gift of God. You cannot work your way in it. Romans 11:6 tell us, And if by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace no longer would be grace.

Romans 4:4-5, Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness. John 1:12, But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.

Faith itself is a gift of God. Romans 1:12, For I say, through grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, according as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

Everything we have is by the grace of God and we should be thankful. No one can save themselves. We can’t buy salvation. We can’t work into it. We can’t do anything. It is the gift of God. Even faith to believe to be saved is a gift!

So why do we bother evangelizing and preaching the gospel? Because faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. “He who have ears let him hear,” says the Lord.

THANKSGIVING: Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who have saved us by grace though faith in Christ. Thank You Lord for bringing us to Your family and giving us the right to be called Your children. Father we acknowledge this is not our works. It is Your own doing from start to finish, so that none of us can boast on your sight. How privileged are we O Lord? Nothing good was in us Father yet you chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world. In that, we are so grateful Father.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I take this moment to pray for my brothers and sisters who are still living in darkness. I pray this grace finds them wherever they are today. May Your good Spirit quicken them to the truth when they hear the gospel preached and may their hearts be opened to receive what You’ve already done for them in Christ Jesus. Thank you Father for awakening them to the truth. Thank you also for listening to my prayers and giving a yes answer. In this I utter Amen in Christ Jesus.

OUR RESPONSE to this amazing grace is found in Titus 2:11-12, For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age.
